The Arrival of Windows 10

Many of you would’ve heard about, if not already upgraded to, Microsoft’s last full Operating System – Windows 10.

New about Windows 10 is that it now works across all Windows-powered devices, from smartphones and tablets to laptops and the Xbox One console. Best of all, millions of PC users who already use Windows 7 or 8 will be able to upgrade for free! In the latest version of windows, you will see some familiar and well-loved interfaces from both Windows 7 and Windows 8. Among the future are:

The start menu

It’s back! For those of you who are using Windows 8, this is great news. Now you get a scrolling start menu like the old-fashioned way with jump lists and fly-out menus for extra options. On top of that, there is an extra pane where you can pin app tiles the Windows 8 way.

The command prompt

Who else feels like the command prompt hasn’t changed since the 1990s? Well, Microsoft has put an end to that in Windows 10. You are able to resize the window and use familiar keyboard shortcuts such as ctrl+c and ctrl+v.

A new internet browser – Edge

Microsoft has finally caught up with the fast and lean browser trend! Make sure you check it out to see how it compares against Chrome and Firefox. Note also that Edge is not to replace Internet Explorer.

Virtual desktops

Don’t have multiple monitors? This new feature is for you! With the new virtual desktop feature, you can arrange a lot of windows and use Alt-Tab to move between apps and Windows-Ctrl+left or right to move between desktops. This is a feature many mac-users love, and it is now also available on Windows 10.

There are many more new features introduced in Windows 10. Upgrade your Operating System to experience them first-hand! Office environments are always a bit trickier to update due to mission critical software. If you are looking to upgrade the systems in your office, drop us a line and we will get in touch!
